What Happens To Non-Healing Wounds? The Answer Is GMO Skinap Wound Healing

By Dorothy Roberts

Human biological processes allow the skin and underlying tissues to repair themselves after an injury. The first phase of the process is inflammation whereby blood loss is prevented by clots creation. Then the destruction phase is when white blood cells get introduced on the wound to clean it. Proliferation is when the fibroblasts regenerate new tissues and the final stage is called maturation and it is when the tissue edges are pulled together to close-up the wound. If the body fails to follow this process, non-healing wounds may result, GMO skinap wound healing can then be adopted to remedy this condition.

If your wound doesn t show signs of curing within 6 weeks then something is wrong. It is either you have poor blood circulation or your nervous system is not performing to its maximum; these are the major causes of non-healing wounds. This condition is very common to people suffering from diabetes and similar chronic diseases and old people.

A chronic wound should not be ignored because serious health problems may follow if it catches an infection, the worst that could happen is that doctors may recommend amputation of body parts like legs and feet if they get affected beyond repair. These are the signs of an infected cut; pain intensifies, the area starts to be red and warm, or it overflows with an odourful discharge.

In the 18th century, leeches were used for curing wounds but they were later abandoned. Scientists have since adopted the method used in the 18th century with a bit of modification to treat un-healing wounds. They use genetically modified organisms like maggots instead of naturally composited leeches.

Maggots are placed on the affected area where they will clean and remove dead tissues. On top of that, they secrete a liquid that prevents the wound from getting infected, the liquid is often called an antimicrobial secretion. Although the wound finally gets healed, it does so after some time, so maggots don t speed up the healing time. Some doctors, after performing experiments argue that maggots should only be used for debridement, otherwise they will become deleterious to the skin.

Scientists then figured that using genetically modified maggots may speed up the remedial process. They modified these organisms to start secreting a liquid that will promote a quick multiplication of skin cells. Two types of maggots were created to solve this problem. The first ones were engineered to secrete platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB) when under temperatures above or equal to 37 degrees Celsius. PDGF-BB is the human growth factor needed to speed up the remedial process.

The 2nd type of maggots was modified to produce PDGF-BB when they were fed food that lacked tetracycline (this is a type of bacteria). This type is the one that proved to be successful since the maggots could excrete the growth factor unlike with the heat-induced ones.

If you want medical help regarding non-healing bruises, search for companies similar to Skinap therapeutics, they offer GMO wound treating together with other solutions for skin problems.
