The Wonderful Career Life Of Dr Sastry

In the field of ophthalmology, one of the names that has been made big is none other than the one of Dr Sastry. Dr Srinivas Sastry is a very well known ophthalmologist who has been a practicing doctor for around twenty one years with vast experience. Of course, he did not become very successful overnight as he did go through a lot before reaching to where he is right now.

This doctor is noted for receiving his doctors degree in Kasturba Medical College during the year of 1989. Eventually, he got his MPH degree from Harvard in the year of 1990. He had his internship program in the MedStar Washington Hospital Center in the year 1991 after he got his MPH degree in Boston.

After he finished his medical internship, he then had a residency program in 1995 in Howard University Hospital. Other than his residency program, he had two medical fellowships with one being from the National Eye Institute in 1992 and the second being in the University of Washington Medical Center in 1997. As of now, he is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology and has an actual board certificate. He also has a license from the MD State and also a license from the DC State.

While he specializes in general ophthalmology, he specializes in surgery of eyes as well as the medical cases with regard to macula vitreous diseases and retina conditions. Of course, he also has knowledge in other conditions that are related to the eyes as well. These include diabetes induced diseases and macular deterioration.

Aside from his educational attainments and his practice, this doctor is also known for his academic and medical achievements. Firstly, he was awarded a spot in the Washington Magazines Top Doctors of the year 2010. He was also well known in his research of ophthalmology treatments in which he presented several journals he wrote on eye diseases and other topics relating to his practice.

This doctor has been affiliated with three hospitals in his practice. These are the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, the MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he did his internship, and most recently, the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda which can be found near Washington.

As part of his achievements and accomplishments, he also gained some top positions in these hospitals. He became a chair of a surgery department for more than 6 years. He also became a chair of an ophthalmology department for 2 years in another hospital. As of now, he is a specialized doctor and is part of a team of 30 ophthalmologists in the Suburban Hospital.

With his great career, this doctor was not only able to help a lot of his patients who had eye diseases and other problems that required some sort of surgery, but also vastly contributed to the development of the field of ophthalmology. Because of his superb skills and his dedication to this particular field, he became one of the most amazing doctors to come from India.
