By Francis Riggs

As we grow older, certain physical changes are expected to occur. In the case of women, this can come in the form of menopause. In this stage, the normal monthly menstrual cycle ceases to occur. This is natural so it should not be a problem. But for some women who experience regular discomfort in this stage, the whole experience can be really unwelcome.

The discomfort can be more than just a mere inconvenience, which is one reason why those who experience them find ways to ward off the pain. This is also the reason why menopause medication is made available for the public. But just because its available does not mean that anyone can already avail of it. There remains some health considerations that menopausal women will have to be mindful about.

Before undergoing any kind of treatment, its best if you talk first to your attending physician. You have to make sure that you get their go signal first before taking anything. Otherwise, there may be some complications especially if you have an existing physical issue. Problems with regular sleep. To some this could be a mild case of sleep disruptions. Others can be diagnosed as insomnia. The change in the normal production of some hormones like the estrogen can affect the sleep of some women, making it difficult for them to find quality rest at night.

Those who suffer from a severe case on this one are likely to damage her relationships with her loved ones as well, which is why appropriate medication will haves to be observed.

Problems with remembering. Memory issues are so common with elderlies, that sometimes, we already find it tricky to directly associate it with a specific health condition. To some, this can only be a minor issue. To others, this can be severe.

Hot flashes. This is perhaps one of those most uncomfortable thing that can happen to women in menopause. Common characteristics of this conditions is the rapid heartbeat with the burning feeling from inside. Others also feel like they are out of breath and close to fainting. The frequency of its occurrence can differ from one person to another. To some, this can happen several times in a day.

While these are commonly associated with the menopause, not all who are on the stage experience this. For youngsters, it is always encouraged to be as healthy as you can and to avoid all of those habits that are destroying your body. Being healthy will mean more resilience to any of these symptoms in the future.

Do not succumb to the inconvenience without doing anything. Know yourself more. Be aware of your lifestyle and see if its contributing to the discomfort that you feel. If it is, then better do something about it now. To be safe, always consult your doctor first for anything related to treatment.
